Meet Dr. Hanlon

Dr. Hanlon is a Pittsburgh native who attended Penn State University for college and graduated from the UPenn School of Dental Medicine in 2012. Implant dentistry is Dr. Hanlon's true passion. He is committed to pursuing the latest advances in implant dentistry and technology and is constantly developing his knowledge through continuing education. Dr. Hanlon has placed well over one thousand implants and now uses a fully digital workflow from the implant planning process to the completion of the final prosthesis utilizing technologies such as Cone Beam CT scans, Digital impressions and 3D printing. These technologies allow Dr Hanlon to provide exceptional care in a cost-effective manner, all while drastically reducing the amount of time patients need to be in the dental chair.

Dr. Justin Hanlon discovered his passion for dentistry thanks to his passion for sports. During his junior year of high school, when a tennis incident fractured Dr. Hanlon's two front teeth, his family dentist came to the rescue and repaired the damage. What began as a frightening and painful experience turned into a life-changing one. Dr. Hanlon became fascinated by the power of dentistry and its ability to provide greater levels of confidence and success in people’s lives.

Dr. Hanlon's favorite procedures include full-arch implant treatments (such as the all-on-4 or all-on-X) and full-mouth rehabilitations utilizing crown and bridgework, since these treatments are most impactful to his patients. Since then, Dr. Hanlon has committed himself to pursuing, and achieving, excellence in dentistry. He seeks out every opportunity for continuing education, and for new investments in innovative techniques and technologies. He's dedicated to his craft, and he truly believes in its potential to change the lives of his patients — just as it changed his.

A Pittsburgh native, Dr. Hanlon graduated from Taylor Allderdice High School in Squirrel Hill. He went to college at Penn State University, and then pursued his dental education at the University of Pennsylvania School of Dental Medicine.

After graduating from UPenn, Dr. Hanlon spent several years refining his professional skills as an associate in private practices in the greater Philadelphia region and, most recently, in Pittsburgh’s North Hills. During this time, he expanded his dental training through extensive continuing education, including earning certifications in implant placement and Invisalign®.

Dr. Hanlon is a member of the Pennsylvania Dental Association, the American Dental Association, and the International Dental Implant Association, where he received his implant training after dental school.

When Dr. Hanlon isn’t improving the smiles of his patients, he likes to swap his scrubs for skis, hiking boots or a yoga mat. And, though Dr. Hanlon decided to hang up his skates for good, he still loves watching sports, and enjoys rooting on the Penguins and Steelers. Dr. Hanlon lives in Squirrel Hill with his wife, Leigha, and their two rescue pups, Bodhi and Dez. Leigha and Justin enjoy seeing live music, trying new restaurants and getting out west as often as possible to explore the Rockies together.

A lifelong music fan, Dr. Hanlon loves talking to patients about their musical tastes, and enjoys hearing their feedback on all aspects of their experience at Omni Dental, including their recommendations for the office’s tailored Pandora station.
