How it Works
The All-On-X procedure removes remaining teeth, places 4-6 implants per arch, and attaches a low-profile bridge to the implants. The implants are often positioned at specialized angles to avoid the sinuses, which eliminates the need for expensive bone grafts and lengthy healing times.
Traditionally, the All-On-X uses 4 implants with acrylic denture teeth on a titanium frame. However, at Omni Dental, we have enhanced this procedure to provide superior results based on our experience in successfully placing numerous dental implants. We carefully evaluate each patient’s unique anatomy to determine the optimal treatment. Depending on your needs, your doctor will place 4 to 6 implants per arch, and secure temporary fixed bridges while your implants integrate with the jawbone and your mouth heals.

Am I a Candidate?
Most patients are suitable candidates for the All-On-X procedure, including those who have been informed they lack sufficient bone for dental implants. Your doctor will employ a combination of straight and angled implants to navigate around the sinuses and engage the strongest areas of your jawbone. This approach typically eliminates the need for costly and time-consuming sinus augmentation bone grafts.
During your consultation, your doctor will conduct a comprehensive evaluation to determine if the All-On-X “Teeth in a Day” option is right for you.
Zirconia vs. Traditional Denture Materials
Zirconia is considered the “gold standard” material for the All-On-X procedure due to its exceptional durability and resistance to wear and corrosion. This ceramic material is an excellent choice for All-On-X dental restorations.
One of the primary benefits of zirconia in All-On-X implants is its strength and stability. Zirconia bridges can endure high chewing forces without cracking or chipping, ensuring that your new teeth perform flawlessly for years. Additionally, zirconia is biocompatible, meaning it is unlikely to trigger allergic or inflammatory reactions, making it a great option for patients with sensitive or allergy-prone skin.
Another significant advantage of zirconia dental implants is their stunning, natural appearance. Unlike metal or acrylic, zirconia has a translucent quality that closely resembles natural teeth, providing a realistic and aesthetically pleasing smile.
Zirconia is also easy to clean and maintain; it can be polished to retain its shine and prevent discoloration over time, contributing to the longevity of your All-On-X teeth.
Overall, zirconia is an outstanding choice for All-On-X dental implants, offering numerous benefits that make it an appealing option for patients seeking a beautiful, long-lasting, and low-maintenance smile.

All-On-X Dental Implants Procedure Timeline
The procedure typically takes 4-6 hours, depending on whether you're having a single arch (upper or lower) or both arches (full mouth) treated. When you leave our office, your temporary All-On-X bridge(s) will be securely attached to the new implants.
You’ll wear the temporary bridge(s) for about 4 months to allow the implants to fully integrate with your bone and for your jaw and gums to heal into a stable, long-term position. This healing time ensures the best possible fit for your final bridges.

Frequently Asked Questions
After All-on-X dental implant surgery, it's crucial to allow adequate time for healing and for the implants to integrate with your jawbone. While you may start eating again relatively soon after the procedure, returning to normal eating habits right away is unlikely.
Immediately following the surgery, you may experience some swelling, discomfort, and tenderness in the surgical area. It's essential to adhere to your dentist's post-operative instructions, which often include a soft or liquid diet for the first few days or weeks. This approach helps protect the surgical site and promotes healing.
As your mouth heals and the implants stabilize, you'll gradually be able to transition to a more varied diet. Your dentist will advise you on when it's safe to reintroduce harder foods and resume normal eating.
Keep in mind that the recovery timeline and ability to eat normally can differ from person to person. Factors like overall health, bone density, and adherence to post-operative care will all affect the speed of your recovery.
